Today was a good day, although it did not start like that. It was a bit of a replica of yesterday, with Eli throwing a number of tantrums in the morning, and refusing to eat anything we put in front of him for lunch. He was able to sleep for only about an hour today, but he was definitely tired.
We made arrangements today to visit the orphanage from where Eli had stayed for much of his life, and bring some grocery donations to them. We were picked up at 2 by Girmatchew and we were off, money in hand, and with a grocery trip upcoming. We visited a little grocery store near the orphanage, and Girmatchew picked out all the things we were going to buy. He had an idea of what the orphanage was needing, so we told him how much we had. We had about 10,000 Birr (approx. $500 USD) to shop with, which had been donated by friends and family from home. We are very thankful to them for the donations that has helped stock the orphanage for the near future. Here are some pictures of the groceries we purchased with that money. Eli was able to see some of his old friends, and nannies again, and it was cool to see how loved he was at the orphanage.
We got back around 5:00, and I went out in search of some supper for the 3 of us, and did a little bit of grocery shopping for us as well.
We had a skype date with a good friend at 6:00, and we chatted for a bit, but Eli was a bit squirmy, so Hilary took over, while I put Eli to bed. Eli went to sleep very quickly, and by 7:15, he was sleeping, while Hilary continued to chat with our friend. It begs the question, why we have waited this long to try Skyping with our friends and family. Early on, the internet was not very stable it seems, but lately, it seems to have become better, so the skyping has been easier. What a blessing to be able to do this even though we are many many miles apart.
Today also marks exactly one month since Eli has been placed in our care. What a month it has been. We have learned much about our new son, and we realize that there is still much to learn about him, and his personality.

It was SO good to see you guys today (and sweet Eli for a few moments!). Loved the tour of your place. Thanks for the great chat!
