June 4th, 2013 - The day Eli coloured

Today was a relaxing day spent doing very little.

We woke up as per our general routine, except that I slept in longer than normal.  I woke up with everything not really feeling very well, so I zonked back out again.  Eli and Hilary spent the morning, playing, enjoying breakfast, and watching some Blue Planet.  Eli was able to nap for about an hour and a half in the morning.  Once I woke up, Hilary was able to have a bath, in a really long tub (probably close to 5 feet long), while Eli and I played with his cars.  Eli is getting more and more chatty these days, and seems to be constantly talking and jabbering nonsense.  It is cute to see this development.

At lunchtime, Hilary and Eli had some noodles and crackers, and Eli finally signed "more".  We have not really been pushing the issue too much, but every time we say more, we've been using the sign.  He finally caught on, and used it a number of times today.  Now we will start focussing on "please".  He is also saying Mommy and Daddy regularly.  Today also, we asked him to put something in the garbage, and he put it in the right place.  He is slowly understanding our english words.  It is great to see the development, and understanding that he is showing.

ch, we had a nap.  Eli fell asleep relatively quickly, and slept for 3 hours, while I took care of some emails that I needed to write.  After the nap, I went out shopping for some groceries and diapers, while Hilary and Eli colored, and went up to the roof and played there.

Once I got back, Eli and I went out for a walk, and played some soccer in the courtyard.  Eli was much more enthralled by the walk, and would've liked to go for a much longer walk.  We returned, and ordered some supper.

Eli was not very interested in eating supper today, and as a result, ate less than normal (only about 4 bites), but we also did not push it too much..  After supper, we did our bedtime routines, and Eli went to bed.  As of this post, Eli is still rolling around in his bed, and not really falling asleep.  Hopefully that will happen soon.
