Today was a good day.
We made some arrangements last night to go to a church this morning. We were picked up at 11:00 this morning and headed over to the Holy Trinity Cathedral for some sight-seeing. It was a beautiful church, and it was interesting learning more about the Orthodox faith, and the meanings of many of the symbols, and reasons for the way things are done in the Orthodox Church.
Eli was not incredibly impressed, and screamed a few times throughout the tour. We went out for lunch with A,B&I and Markos, and enjoyed spending the time with them. After lunch, we headed back to our respective guesthouses, and put our kids to bed for a nap.
We were able to skype (sort of) with my parents, and it was great to hear their voices. We were also able to connect with Hilary's parents, and it was also great to hear their voices, and video chat with them. Eli was a little bored with all the video chatting, so he and I went downstairs and played some soccer in the courtyard.
Around 5:30, A,B&I came over for a quick little visit. Eli and "I" played well together (at least "I" would take the toys away from Eli, and he would grab them back :)). They left around 6:30, and we started our bedtime routines for Eli and us after supper.
When all is said and done, we had a great day, and look forward to another exciting day of swimming tomorrow. There is going to be a large crew of us heading out to go swimming tomorrow, but first we are going to apply for Eli's passport. This is the 2nd last item that needs to be completed before we return home, so it feels great that things are moving once again.

Aww, love the father & son photo.
ReplyDeleteThat may be my favorite picture yet. I love the trust and complete abandon of sleep. Shel, I love it that you truly have a son...IN YOUR ARMS. It's hard to believe he's actually there. We're anxiously awaiting your return and Eli's introduction to our family! We love you.
