Today we woke up, and made some plans with F&C to come over with their new daughter (L), and join us for lunch. We went up to the balcony on the 5th floor here, and had a picnic lunch, just the 6 of us. It was fun to chat with another couple who is in the same situation as us, and try to provide some hopefully helpful hints on what to expect going forward.
After lunch, we chatted a bit more, and then they left to go back to their guesthouse. We put Eli down for a nap, but he would not fall asleep. Around 3:00, I lay down with him, and was able to get him to sleep for about an hour, and the bonus was that I got some sleep as well.
After our nap, we relaxed, and played a bit together. We started packing up some of our souvenirs, and things that we want to bring home, but won't need while we are here. Of course we are hoping that we will soon be heading home.
We had supper at 5:30, and we called my parents at 6:30, and chatted with my mother for about an hour. It was great to chat with her, and get the latest on the happenings back home, and keep her informed on how we are doing here. We can't wait for her to meet her newest grandson.
Here are a few pictures from the yesterday and today...
Yesterday, we encountered a herd of cattle right down a main street where we were driving. It was again, a cool thing to see. Obviously this could never happen in Canada this way. There were probably 50 animals and about 5 or 6 people herding them down the street. There were a couple of times where the animals started getting out of hand, but the herders, were able to get them back under control.

One thing Eli has learned over the past few weeks is to fold his hands when we pray |

"Mom, do I have to sleep? I'd rather play with Chico!" |
Yeah...our streets (a.k.a. gravel roads) are never so crowded when we herd our cattle down them...though sometimes vehicles DO have to wait for the stragglers!...those are some crazy horns on those cows! I wouldn't want to be crossing the street when THOSE cows do! Anyway, your pictures are wonderful and I am still so excited that you are experiencing this stage of your journey!! Many, many blessings!!!
ReplyDeleteThat little face just makes me smile! I love his expressions! (I think he should be able to stay up and play with Chico!) I'm so glad that you decided to stay and bond with Eli. Seeing the things that you're doing with him, the things that he's learning and that you're learning, I think it was a wise decision.
ReplyDeleteHopefully you tell him about all of the wonderful people that he's going to meet when he comes to his new home. See you soon!
